ANGT Patras 2021-22 Field: CSKA, Barcelona, HBA, Maccabi, Olympiacos, Promitheas, Stellazzurra - Players to Watch
Here is the field for the ANGT Patras 2021-22: CSKA Moscow Barcelona, Helsinki BA, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Olympiacos Piraeus, Promitheas Patras and Stellazzurra Rome. Plus players to watch.
The fields are set for the 2021-22 Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament qualifiers. The eight teams for the ANGT Patras from March 25-27, 2022: CSKA Moscow, FC Barcelona, Helsinki Basketball Academy, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Olympiacos Piraeus, Promitheas Patras and Stellazzurra Rome. The eighth team will be a Next Generation Team selected at a later date by Adidas staff. And as an added bonus, here are some players to watch from all teams. Please note, these are NOT official roster lists - solely projections by TTC.
CSKA Moscow
The three-time champions are back and should have a couple of interesting talents on board. Vlasislav Mikheev will be one of the leaders along with Daniil Klyuchenkov and Vadim Shirinkin. Also to watch are Kirill Petukhov and Yaroslav Nikonov.
FC Barcelona
Barcelona will have two major forces back from last year’s team in Teodor Simic and James Nnaji. Simic has already played a major role in the North Macedonia senior national team while Nnaji made his debut in the EuroLeague last week against Zalgiris Kaunas. There are other players back from the team as well including Rafa Villar, Aaron Ganal, Martin Iglesias and Ricardo Martin.
Helsinki Basketball Academy
The famed academy in the Finnish capital is making its ANGT debut. The leader of the team will be Miro Little, who is close to making the Finnish senior national team and is already getting big offers for college in the United States. Two of the other main players on this team will be Eric Chime and Eino Pallijeff. A couple of other names to watch are Ville Karhu, Vilijami Vartiainen and Matias Ansamaa
Maccabi Tel Aviv
Maccabi could have one of the top contenders to lead the tournament in scoring in Ido Menchel. But there are other players to help him. Maccabi will have a strong group of 2005-born players including Ori Cohen, Shachar Doron and Omer Mayer.
Olympiacos Piraeus
Olympiacos will have a couple of interesting players, topped by Thomas Zorbas and Michael-Aggelos Arfaras. Other players of note are Apostolos Nikolaidis, Giorgos Lambropoulos and Benjamin Abosi.
Promitheas Patras
Promitheas will be led by the 2005-born Nikolaos Vasileiou who played at the ANGT in 2019-20. He also has already debuted in the Greek top flight A1 and played in three EuroCup games last season. Helping him out will be Nikolaos Plotas, Panagiotis Kourepis and Dimitrios-Kalliakoudas.
Stellazzurra Rome
Stellazzurra return and will have a strong outfit led by Matteo Visintin as well as Venezuelan Fabrizio Pugliatti. But there are also Estonia guard Kaspar Kuusmaa, Emmanuel Innocenti, Moussa Doumbia and Riccardo Salvioni.
