Round 6 of the BKT EuroCup was overshadowed by the terrible news from Valencia and other parts of Spain about heavy rains and flooding that cost upwards of nearly 100 people their lives. Valencia Basket understandably postponed their EuroCup game against Lietkabelis Panevezys. The rest of the games provided some fantastic storylines including a couple of upsets, another overtime game and one team finally grabbing their first win of the season.
Sergio Llebres and David Hein review the sixth round of action, highlighting Dreamland Gran Canaria’s win over slumping Spanish rivals Joventut Badalona as well as Bahcesehir College Istanbul proving too deep and strong for winless Trefl Sopot. We also take a deeper look at Marcus Foster after he helped Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv to a win over Buducnost VOLI Podgorica; Marcio Santos’ emergence for ratiopharm ulm in a victory over Dolomiti Energia Trento; Kur Kuath playing a major role in Veolia Towers Hamburg getting their first victory; and Vassilis Toliopoulos of Aris Midea Thessaloniki after they beat Cosea JL Bourg-en-Bresse, who have suddenly lost two straight games.
We also take a brief look at some of the top games for Round 7 including Bahcesehir hosting Hapoel Tel Aviv; Turk Telekom Ankara welcoming U-BT Cluj-Napoca; and Bourg playing at Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana.
