Why it pays to get a TTC paid subscription
Hello and thank you for supporting Taking The Charge. A paid subscription plan has been added and I wanted to tell you a little bit about what you will get from it and why it can help you.
If you are reading this it’s because you have decided to support the Taking The Charge substack with a subscription. We have big news - we have added a paid subscription plan which is ideal for those who work in the game of basketball - especially as a scout and observer. Please let me tell you why you should become a paid subscriber - and why it’s better to act now.
What is Taking The Charge?
Taking The Charge covers the world of international basketball - both national team and club and both seniors and juniors. And TTC founder David Hein is one of the leading journalists in international basketball. Hein has been covering global basketball since the FIBA EuroBasket 2001 and has traveled around the world to cover the game both at the club and national team levels as well as at the senior and junior level. He has spent two decades writing for various basketball governing bodies such as the entire FIBA family, Euroleague, Basketball Champions League, EuroCup, the German BBL. The TTC substack represents a great platform to follow if you are interested in basketball around the world.
Since early September 2021, Taking The Charge has come to you regularly with content - both written and audio. And the main expansion is on the audio front.
- On October 4, we debuted the Gone Traveling Show where we have a weekly look at a couple of the leading leagues around the world.
- Since October 14, there have been weekly editions of Talking Talent, where three scouts each take a look at three young prospects around the world.
- On November 10, we re-launched the weekly Taking The Charge podcast.
What is new with Taking The Charge?
On November 23, we will debut the Taking The Charge Prospects podcast.
The weekly Prospects podcast will have an in-depth interview with a young talent in the world of basketball who is a candidate for the NBA Draft, someone who might be looking to attend college in the United States or a player a higher level team in Europe should be looking at.
What is changing with paid subscriptions?
While the Taking The Charge podcast and Gone Traveling Show will remain free, Talking Talent and the Prospect podcast will both be part of the paid subscription. The Talking Talent shows will be available to free subscribers for two weeks and then archived only for paid subscriber. Both of course are great ways to keep up with and learn valuable information about some of the top prospects in world basketball.
Why subscribe?
To learn even more about young talents - especially if you need to know how these players are developing on the court and who these players are off the court. Information is an essential commodity. And a paid subscription to Taking The Charge provides valuable information not available elsewhere.
What will it cost?
300 euros per year or 30 euro/month
My expectation is that you can expense this. Should you need to pitch a paid subscription to you superiors, my argument is: This newsletter will make it easier for you and the people around you to make a decision.
If you cannot expense this and cannot afford it, email me and we can work something out.
Why subscribe now?
Black Friday is coming up and if you subscribe by midnight Friday Central European Time (6pm Eastern Standard US), you will get the first year for only 240 euros or 24 euro/month (20% off).
Even if you don’t order a paid subscription, your commitment to Taking The Charge is deeply appreciated. It shows that you value quality work and devotion to international basketball. Free subscribers will still get the weekly Taking The Charge podcast, the Gone Traveling Show as well as FICYMIs. There will also be longer articles being posted that will make it worth your time and commitment to remain a loyal - and much valued - supporter and follower of the Taking The Charge substack.
Thanks again for your time
David Hein
